Yaar Poojeet, neither has he invented shit nor is it a good idea, primarily due to logistics. Also, Acetylene is extremely corrosive, your engine will die so much, the environmental damage to make a new engine will surpass any emission benefits.
The only reason to use these would be if natural gas is not available like in case of the Axis in WW2 using gasifiers to make up for the fuel shortages.
