Today i hosed my Arch GNU/Linux machine by messing with its mkinitcpio file
I tried moderning the config file for my particular configuration and ended up destroying my install
Changed a whole bunch of options in the config and after rebuilding the kernel, i was greeted with a rescue tty. Even after trying for about 2 hours to fix my system in chroot, i was unsuccesful and gave up.
I don't have an external storage medium except my pen drive so i learnt how to make backup in the live usb tty using tar and trying to transfer it over usb via a simple mv command. This failed horribly as the mv'd tar backup file had a different md5 sum from the original so i ended up using rsync over adb to do the backup transfer which worked perfectly!!!! and the md5 sums matched.
Unfortunately i lost all the metadata for my files because i must have use wrong flags but atleast i didnt lose my data.
So today i ended up reinstalling arch again after 2 years. Instead of wasting my day jerking off, i learned something new.

I don't have any friends to share this with
-----------
*modernising not moderning
*install not instal
to clarify, i rsync'd the file to my phone since the live usb wasn't big enough to hold the backup(~40 GB)
----------------
NEVER use mtp or adb to transfer large files to an android phone
they suck and will corrupt your precious data
