Thailand is predominantly a more Buddhist nation than a Hindu one. Laws don't follow the culture of proto Hinduism, such as one seen in Trinidad (marrying at age of 12) since India is a secular nation (unrelated to how it should be).
Hinduism itself is pretty vast, so how the laws should be would be a common agreement within different sects like Shaiva, Shakta, Vaishnava, Vaidika, Smartha and so on.
