I think the biggest loss of India was that Buddhism and Hinduism didn't evolve to be a syncretic faith like in Japan and China. Otherwise we could be a cultural sphere all the way from central Asia Western Iran to Japan and South East Asia. A proper Eastern Civillisation

Facts dude, but you have to put the blame on Buddhists. Hindus literally changed their whole religion from the martial Vedic religion to a very pacifist-local customs including religion while Buddhists didn’t even try to incorporate some allowance for wars into their religion.

There’s literally verses saying you don’t even have to engage in warfare if the opportunity cums up. That’s one reason they got wiped out of the continent, though it feels good to know Buddhism evolved in a martial way in Japan. And at the end of the day, even if Buddhism didn’t survive in India, I’m glad atleast chinks have dharma among them. Hail Ashoka.

Would be a good idea if the emperors interfered and encouraged them to wage war. Imagine how hard it would be Hindu Buddhists marched to the North to crush the Arabs in Transoxiana like in India
