The best way to do it is with is one with English and Hindi transliteration side by side. Movies can also be helpful with subtitles ofcourse.

Your best shot at it would be watching old hindi kino you think you'd like. Go down the boomer route of gushing over old actors, it could help you

Fuck you

More ideas? Not OP but I'd like to have an operational understanding of this language to read books. Anything like picrel?

Or should I just bulldoze through with what little understanding I have?

Hindi would be easy if your mother tongue is similar to it, not to people who have a south indian/northeastern langauge as their mother tongue

No. Hindi is very easy language by itself. Of ourse grammar and stuff is hard but spoken hindi by itself doesnt need that much grammar. You can learn it all by yourself if by just using phone for pronunciation and some low graders book. Only language easier than it might be english

cringe ass threads, dogpile answers. Anyways OP, you can checkout this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@ComprehensibleHindi (although there's still not nearly enough material yet to bridge to native content)

> there's always the CI wiki which you can refer to as well: https://comprehensibleinputwiki.org/wiki/Hindi

> Know a buddy who studied from the rupert snell book & from what he told me it was pretty darn good.

After you have got the basics down from these sources, the best thing you can do after that is a lot of immersion. Happy learning
