He has provided an e-book, you can get it for 5$ usd or something or even from other online sources. It's really good if you want to dig deeper.

These three resources should be enough to get anyone started, rest what matters is drawing and practice.

Well, post your work-in-progress and let others help you out. No need to struggle alone.

Maybe consider drawing small things, like just a face instead of a whole person, so you can get more done in the same amount of time to build momentum

picrel 1: AI generated pixel art that I used my new tool to "fix"

picrel 2: Tried to draw a slightly different house that would "fit" into the world.

picrel 3: A maze, drawn entirely by hand, for now.

I made a program to automate making such mazes, maybe I will think about tiling logic again and automate the sprite/tiles and collision system to be generated with the maze too.

interesting, i was just trying to randomly draw to learn a bit on line art. Now i feel i can do much better atleast against jaggies and color outline. Maybe some day.

On the other hand, wanted to draw ashvattha tree but was failing and in general i used to have difficulty in finding singling out what details to keep and what to remove when drawing pixel art. Finally realized i could do it.

Damn this took really a long time than expected, inspired from rock edicts, pillars of ashoka i created pixel art of Brahmi script (consonents only currently) inscripted on a rock of sorts.

There's still lots of work to do,

I am seeing some and that is what I use as my source material for image generation. The image I find have great art but the ratio is always a little off and cleaning background makes the art messy. It will be done eventually sirs, and would likely turn better than my Vayu Deva edit.

I am currently sticking to 30x30 sprite file - base, sometimes i may increase the size to accommodate rest of portion of the art.

due to this i have to simplify the drawing otherwise it would look weird.

I wanted to use the limit to certain narrower shape for the face but it didn't look good so i went to traditional route.
