Mithila Brahmin section seems fascinating, it is actually a shame how blurry the content is, I wish we had access to the actually file.

Based on a refined print of the page I could find it was mohyal Brahmins, not mithila, it classified them as subgroup of Saraswat who likely only became a sub branch later.

What is the relation between Khatris and Lohanas?

Anonymous

Genetically very close for some unknown reason.

I have a theory: Jats claim to have originated from Sindh. I think Lohanas are a small group who originated with Jats in Sindh but they stayed in Sindh/Gujarat unlike Jats who migrated to Haryana/Punjab. These Lohanas might be a part of the same central asian invading group of which khatris belong to. The only thing is that the khatris stopped @ western Pakistan while Lohanas moved further downwards with Jats into Sindh.

The muslim Memons are just Converted Lohanas. The Aga Khani Shia Muslims are majority converted Lohanas as well.

Genetically Khatri, Arora, Lohana cluster very close to each other. I've heard that Lohanas have oral traditions tracing their origin back to Lahore, Punjab and that they share surnames with Aroras too.
